What will you learn?



Facilitation Skills:
Leaders need to be effective facilitators in order to build a collaborative working environments and Sustainable Buy-in in stakeholder engagement. Our program includes facilitation tools and frameworks that have been tested for over 30 years.

Communication skills:
Leaders in the mining industry need to be effective communicators in order to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Our program includes training in active listening, listening for the unsaid, listening for alignment, presence, mindfulness, persuasive communication, and conflict resolution.

Emotional intelligence:
Mining industry leaders need to be able to understand and manage their own emotions, as well as the emotions of others, in order to build trust and rapport with stakeholders. Our program includes training in whole-personhood awareness, Awareness with self, others and the group, empathy, reading the energy in the room, working with various energies in the room and relationship management.

Collaboration and teamwork:
Successful mining operations require collaboration and teamwork across a range of internal and external stakeholders. Our program includes training in facilitation skills, facilitative process expertise, group awareness, influencing techniques, collaborative processes and principles, team building models, and negotiation.

What is included in the Program

The experiential learning will take place in the 3 immersive training workshops that are spread out over a 12-month period.  


The Annual training includes:

  • 3x 3-Day Workshop Intensives (in-person) 
  • 6 Executive Coaching Sessions 1:1, 
  • Monthly Group Training Calls - Thursdays, 3 – 5 pm AEST/AEDT 
  • Text Books and Workshop Manuals
  • Concepts, Frameworks, Practice, Coaching and Peer Feedback

Simone Maus

Simone Maus is an experienced facilitator, coach and trainer working in the government, corporate business, and community sectors. Simone is the founder of Collective Insight, a company that focuses on helping leaders and organisations with collaborative leadership training, meaningful stakeholder engagement, cross-sector collaboration, team development and collaborative ways of working. Simone is also a business partner with Zenergy Global Australia, a leading organisation in facilitator training and cooperative ways of working formed in 1993. Simone has been a trainer of these programs for 10+ years. Simone also works as a consultant and Culture Architect with The Zone Global Partnership (thezone.co) using collaborative, whole-person processes to transform organisational development towards more collaboration and high-performing teams. In the last two years, Simone has worked as a consultant and facilitator predominantly in the mining industry with leaders in Rio Tinto, Newmont, and the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining at the University of Queensland. FAQ

  • What if I can't attend one of the Intensive Workshops?

    We will work with you as much as possible to enable you to attend. You will be able to attend virtually if needed or for only some of the day. If you really can't attend any then you will have the opportunity to repeat the workshop at a later program with a different cohort within 2 years since your enrollment.

  • Can I just attend the Intensive Workshops?

    Yes, you can. The individual workshop price is 3,300 AUD for the 3-day and 4,400 for the 4-day workshop.

  • Can I pay in installments?

    Yes you can pay monthly, see pricing options.

  • How much experience should I bring as a facilitator to join the program?

    The Program works with any prior level of experience. You can have hardly any or many years the program still will help you to create more mastery around this skill. We work with you prior and during the course to see where your learning edge is at.

  • What happens if I can't attend the monthly meetings due to my time zone?

    We will offer an additional monthly meeting in your time zone, if you are unable to attend otherwise.

  • How many actual contact hours will we have with the Program Leader?

    You will have a total of 142 contact hours with the program leaders, which includes 1:1 coaching, group meetings and 8-hour days for the workshop intensives. This is a total value of $49,700 AUD of direct contact time with the trainer.
